10 minutes extra time for each paper at MHT-CET

Maharashtra Govt. has decided to extend each paper(physics-chemistry, biology, mathematics) by 10 mins. This decision was taken after an representation which highlighted that time alloted in MHT-CET in less than that compared in common entrance tests(CET) in other state.

Also, the CET fee has been curtailed by Rs. 200/-. Thus, common category candidates now pay Rs. 700/- and reserved category candidates pay Rs. 500/-. This decision is expected to reduce the financial burden over the students(why didn’t they think about this while sanctioning 9 textbooks for biology?)

Note: This is an old news originally reported on Feb 9, 2009. We are publishing it today because we were looking for an multiple reliable sources, such as Times of India, Hindustan Times, DNA, Loksatta, etc. which duly report such amendments. We could also not find any related notification on the official site of DMER which is responsible for conducting MHT-CET. The only source we found was a vernacular Marathi newspaper “Sakal“. Common mistakes while writing MHT-CET exam

We all commit silly mistakes in our exams. This article focuses not on study-related mistakes, but on other “technical” mistakes.

While darkening circles, please be careful that you are darkening the appropriate circle. Sometimes, students darken the circles in the line above or below the appropriate circle.
Do not write anything on the question paper, except in the space provided for rough work. Some students are in the habit of ‘ticking’ the correct answer on the question paper or doing rough work just besides the question. Please be warned that this is not allowed as per rules of MHT-CET. If the supervisor notices it, you could be in trouble.
Pay close attention to bells. The supervisors are not teachers but staff of local Municipal Corporation. They are not so well-versed with the examination system. Sometimes, they might confuse one bell for another and this may lead to late distribution or early collections of question papers/answer sheet. If this happens, please bring it to the notice of examination centre authorities immediately. Is such cases, there is no use of doing a court representation because there is inadequate proof that such irregularity occurred.
For boys, please try to bear the look as in your photo on your MHT-CET admit card. An extra-cautious supervisor may else waste your valuable time in confirming your identity.
