Maharashtra Govt. shows double standards on scrapping of MHT-CET

If you are student preparing for MHT-CET, and you haven’t been in coma for the last 15 days, you may be well aware that some people have initiated a movement to scrap MHT-CET — the gateway exam to med, engg and pharm colleges in Maharashtra. The Govt. has formed a study panel consisting of members from DMER, MUHS, State H.S.C. Board, etc. All these people are creating a “proposition” consisting of silly reasons and going to knock the doors of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
Hon’ble Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education, Shri. Rajesh Tope reasoned out that students have already started preparing for MHT-CET 2010, they will conduct MHT-CET 2010. Some other members have said that MHT-CET puts more stress on the students and hence it must be got rid off. Any person, with a little common sense, irrespective of whether he is a member of the study panel or not, can tell you that if you cancel MHT-CET 2010 as well, the students who are right now in Std. XI will have reduced stress. So why doesn’t the Govt. do that right away instead of waiting for MHT-CET 2011?
I sense that “serious business” is involved here. One thing that first comes to my mind is the “coaching class” lobby. Coaching classes usually charge their fees as well as start their coaching programmes well in advance. According to my estimate, coaching classes cover 40% of the portion and spend 80% of the funds in the vacation period, and the remaining 60% of the portion and 20% funds are spent in the “regular” periods. If they cancel MHT-CET 2010, the coaching class lobby will be have serious problems as students and parents will demand refund of CET fees. Since the coaching classes have made all preparations, its is difficult for them to refund this money without incurring a HUGE loss.
Now I see why the unfateful students appearing for MHT-CET 2009 and MHT-CET 2101 will be made to “bear the stress” but the forthcoming batches will have “reduced stress”.

“MHT-CET puts more stress on the students and hence it must be got rid off”… funny, any exam in its place will put the same stress, even more so, as the new pattern will take more time to get adapted to. And if they start considering college exams as the standard, God help Maharashtra!
if they had to cancel the ms=ht cet why th heck did they start it, due to the mht cet students give less attention to college exams and the 12th board exam as only 50% marks are required and 90% in mht cet as expected marks for better carrer

Mht cet will be cacaled because the coching classes trap the student & get more fee’s on base of mht cet .and 90 pesent student they start studay of cet in 12th standared so i think mht cet must be cancle

You can’t help the higher fees. No teacher or coaching class will teach for free.
And you also can’t help students starting early study. Get top score in CET is difficult because students have mainly relied on mugging up, hence creative thinking takes time to develop.

If MHT-CET get cancelled, then I can only imagine the quality of engineers of our state, How they will compete with other state students after ENGG.
Do not ruin the future of young maharashtra, who is already lagging in studies.
if the mht cet is cancelled do you think there will be some quota or percentile formula for isc and cbse students? i study in an isc college and i don’t want to miss out on a good med school thanks to all these quotas.
If MHT CET is cancelled, what will be the criteria for CBSE/ICSE students? Percentile formula !!!!!! or quota. Otherwise there will be again chaos like junior college admission in the year 2008.

N if Government want to reduce the stress,then they should rather increase the number of seats,specially for medical….
NO MHT-CET should not be cancelled because its the only Honest way to acquire our dream…

yes … mht cet should definately be cancelled i was in 12th last year i fully got involved in the studies but in last wat happend i scored less than expected mks in cet but i scored good mks in boards which is not of any use they should either keep fully cet or fully board portion this 50-50 studies is nt of any use.
i want to repeat ,wht abt me if cet is cancelled???????????????????????
12th standard exam includes byhearting all the portion and is not suitable 2 select d intelligent from the others while in CET exam it is possible ……….
so CET EXAM SHOULD NOT BE CANCELLED !!!!!!!!!!!!!
if maharashtra closed cte exams,then god only knows future of maharashtra. It will be worst in INDIA in education. REMEMBER……………
Scrap HSC instead!!
Most of you ppl are frm HSC……..u ppl hav the same syllabus as that of MHT-CET……but think about ppl from other boards like ISC/CBSE…….we have to study both the syllabus separatly as our syllabus is different from that of CET……….if we concentrate on CET we wont get good marks in ISC and vice-versa……….nd dis unconfirmed news about scrapping out CET confuses me on what to concentrate……………..nd therefore CET shoud be scrapped off………if not jst give us a confimed news nd not rumours
imv finishd wid my 12th stndard and am nt gna appear for et this year..and i wana join an engineering cllege in maharastra…shud i wait for a year and give it next year?????wat if the govt decides to scrap cet then wat will i do????/
